Aaron Rusch (Hartford/Hartford) finished Saturday's game with seven receptions for 127 of the Warhawk's 466 total offensive yards. Rusch also scored one of Whitewater's five touchdowns in the third quarter on a 48 yard pass from
Jeff Donovan (Wauwatosa/East) in the 38-14 win over UW-River Falls.
Rusch's seventh reception on Saturday moved his career reception total to 163, a Whitewater school record. The record was formerly held by Jim Leszczynski (2002-2005) with 162 receptions. Rusch also moved into third place on the school's career receiving yardage list, with 2,291 yards.
Defense
In Saturday's game against UW-River Falls,
Mathew McCulloch (Janesville/Parker) and the Warhawk defense held the Falcons scoreless through the end of the third quarter. This is the seventh game this season that the Warhawks have held their opponent scoreless in the first quarter. McCulloch had one unassisted and three assisted tackles. He also broke up two passes in the 38-14 win over UW-River Falls.
