UW-Whitewater defeated UW-Stout 2-1 behind a pair of Stephanie DesJardins goals Saturday afternoon in Menomonie, Wisconsin.

Box Score

DesJardins got UWW on the board first, with an assist from Becky Cera, at 10:43. DesJardins added Whitewater's second goal assisted by Sara Brown at 26:22. Stout pulled within one at 85:25. Andrea Greer was assisted by Courtney Tideman. Tideman also had a chance to tie the game with four seconds left, but Whitewater goalie Jacqueline Piasecki saved the shot and the game.

Stout had just two shots in the first period to seven for the Warhawks, and UWW kept the ball in Stout's end of the field with nine corner kicks to just one for the Blue Devils. Stout turned the shots around in the second half with five to just one for the Warhawks.

UW-Whitewater is 8-7-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conferance. Stout is 5-13-0, and 4-0 in league play.

Whitewater remained in the hunt for a WIAC Tournament first round homegame. The Warhawks final standing in the conference, fourth or fifth will depend on the outcome of the Riverfalls-Platteville game Saturday night. If UWW hosts a first round game it would be Tuesday, November 3 at a time to be announced. Since the Warhawks are a sure at making the conference tournament, they could also play on the road Tuesday. If Whitewater wins Tuesday, they would play on the road Thursday, and another win Thursday would put them in the conference championship match on the road Saturday.
