Warhawks Tune-up to Prepare to Host WIAC Championship

The University of Wisconsin Whitewater prepared to host the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship, set for October 31 with a training run at the Badger Ridge Run on the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course at UW-Madison Saturday.

While a number of UWW runners took the day off or ran for pacing and a workout, Tyler Stein led UW-Whitewater with a seventh place finish in 27:44.9. David Schneekloth was ninth in 27:47.4. Alex Brill a freshman University of Wisconsin-Madison runner was the first person to cross the line in 25:48.9.

UW-Madison, UW-Whitewater, UW-Platteville, and Haskell Indian Nations University were the only schools providing entrance. There were no team scores.

UW-Whitewater will host the WIAC Championship Saturday, October 31, with the women running at noon and the men at 1:00 p.m. The Whitewater course begins and ends west of Kachel Fieldhouse on campus.
