Warhawks Finish Eleventh at Brooks Invitational

The UW-Whitewater women's cross country team finished 11 of 34 teams at the Brooks Invitational held at Winneconne's Lake Breeze Golf Course Saturday. The invitational featured six nationally ranked teams according to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association.

The top three teams in the 6,000 meter run included top ranked Calvin College 80, tenth ranked Washington University (MO) 93, and Minnesota Duluth 98. All six of the nationally ranked teams competing at the invitational placed in the top ten as the Warhawks took eleventh (341).

Five Warhawks finished in the top 100 of 466 runners with the top seven all recording season best times under 24:00. Maddy Roznos crossed the line first for the UW-W at 22:51 and Katie McCabe was right on her heels recording a time of 22:52 as they placed back-to-back 52nd and 53rd. 

Also recording times under 24:00 were Alyssa Duncan (23:09), Eileen Hyland (23:11), Andrea Newman (23:21), Jackie Nett (23:42) and Alex Haroldson (23:55).

Whitewater's next competition is scheduled for Saturday, October 24 in Madison at the Badger Ridge Run. The Warhawks will host the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet on Saturday, October 31 scheduled to begin at noon.
