A Split in the Pool

UW-Whitewater won one and lost one Saturday, losing to host UW-Stevens Point 193-102 and beating UW-Oshkosh 204-83.  Bill Stenavich won twice to lead the Warhawks.

Although scored as a double dual, the meet was competed as a triangular, with placing based on competing as a triangular.

Stenavich earned first place points in the 200 freeestyle (1:48.94) and 100 freestyle (49.41).

Andy Hanney captured another event for UW-W, winning the 200 backstroke (2:01.99).  Hanney also finished third in the 100 backstroke (57.67).

Kyle Stoermer added points in two events, placing second in the 1000 freestyle (10:28.02) and in the 500 freestyle (5:05.50).

Other top performances were turned in by Mike Huffman, second in the 100 freestyle (49.49); Eric Nord, third in the 500 freestyle (5:22.19); and Nate Glover and Adam Altenburg in the 100 butterfly, where Glover was second (56.74) and Altenburg third (57.09).

UW-W will compete in the Point Invitational Friday and Saturday, January 23-24.  The Warhawks' next home meet will be Saturday, January 31 at 1:00 versus UW-Eau Claire.  The meet, women and men, will be held in the Williams Center pool on campus.
