The UW-Whitewater women’s cross country team traveled to Rock Island, Illinois on Saturday to compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Midwest regional and finished 11
th out of 43 teams. The top two teams from the regional, UW-Eau Claire and UW-La Crosse, will advance to the NCAA Division III championship which takes place on November 22 in Hanover, Indiana. The top seven individuals, excluding those who already qualified with their team, also advance to the championship.
Results
All seven Warhawk runners broke the 25-minute mark in the 6k.
Katie McCabe led UW-W finishing in 23:08 which ranked her 42
nd overall. McCabe’s time at the regional meet is the third fastest time ran by a Warhawk this season.
Jackie Nett finished in 23:39 and ranked 67
th overall. The time is Nett’s second fastest this season and the sixth best by a Warhawk runner.
Alex Haroldson ran her fastest time of the season finishing in 23:55 good for 75
th place.

The top seven individuals that will move on to the championships are: Ayla Mitchell (UW-Oshkosh), Becca Jordahl (UW-River Falls), Jenny Scherer (St. Norbert), Lisa Baumert (Wheaton, Ill.), Taryn Surtees (Washington University), Mary Kate Beyer (Monmouth, Ill.) and Jessica Scott (UW-Platteville).
