Katie McCabe (Random Lake/Random Lake) placed twenty-fourth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship in Stevens Point Saturday, with the Warhawks placing seventh in the team standings.
McCabe ran 23:01 for 8,000 meters, the eighth fastest time over that distance in the UW-W record book.
Other contributors to UW-W's team score were: Jackie Nett (Hilbert/Hilbert), thrity-fourth in 23:37; Jen Taylor (Whitewater/Whitewater), thirty-sixth in 23:43; Eileen Hyland (Wauwatosa/PIUS), forty-first in 23:58; and Andrea Newman (Bruce/Bruce), forty-third in 24:06.
Becca Jordahl of UW-River Falls won the meet with a time of 21:00.59.
Team scores were: UW-Eau Claire 42, UW-Oshkosh 62, UW-La Crosse 65, UW-Stevens Point 112, UW-Platteville 159, Uw-River Falls 173, UW-Whitewater 178, UW-Stout 220, and UW-Superior 249.
The Warhawks will compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Midwest Regional November 15 at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.
