The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Athletics Hall of Fame was established in 1965 through the efforts of the Alumni “W” Club and several representatives from the University faculty. The primary purpose of the Athletics Hall of Fame is to give lasting recognition to those Warhawk student-athletes who excelled in their chosen sport activities while attending the University and have performed successfully and with distinction in their chosen lines of work after graduation. Its secondary purpose is to give lasting recognition to those Warhawk student-athletes who have significantly contributed to the history and tradition of the athletic program. Plaques of all inductees will forever be displayed in the Williams Center.
In selecting honorees, the Athletics Hall of Fame Board gives consideration to a graduate’s athletic performances and achievements while attending the University and also after graduation. Moreover, consideration is given to the graduate’s success in their chosen lines of work and record of service to their communities and to society in general. Student-athletes who have participated in the athletic program for at least 2 years while attending the University and have graduated from the University may be considered for induction fifteen years after the date of their last competition.
Furthermore, the Athletics Hall of Fame gives recognition by means of a Distinguished Service Award to any person or persons who have significantly contributed to the success of the athletic program.
