Tim Fader came to Whitewater in 2004 where he took over the helm as the head wrestling coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  He was hired to replace the legendary Dr. Willie Myers in August of 2004.

Fader has worked hard to build up the program which has consisted mostly of underclassmen. Athletes have earned All-American honors over twenty times in Fader's years of head coaching.  Austin Bautista (UW-W) finished 8th in 2009 and 7th place at 141lbs in 2008 to become the latest All- American wrestler under Fader.  Included in these honors are three individual National Champions (Jeremy Miller, 2000  Jason Ott, 2002   Ryan Allen, 2004).  Athletes have also been honored as the Max Sparger Scholar Athlete of the Year in the WIAC four separate occasions during Fader's tenure.  Andrew Melton in 2000, Josh Habeck in 2002, Troy Fabry in 2004 and Nick Karls in 2005. In the 2009-2010, Kyle Wachholder, Austin Bautista, Corey Schmidt, and Jon Schmidt all earned the NWCA Division III Scholar All-America honors.

Prior to coaching the Whitewater program, Fader was the head wrestling coach at conference rival, UW-La Crosse.  UW-L teams finished in the top 20 in the NCAA tournament and won the WIAC each year that he was there.  Prior to assuming the head job at La Crosse, Fader served as a UW-L assistant for three seasons (1995-98), was an assistant at the University of Minnesota-Morris (94-95), assistant coach at Oregon (IL) High School (93-94) and assistant coach at his alma mater; Augustana College (IL) after graduating in 1991.  While a collegian, Fader was a two-time NCAA Division III All-American and was twice named Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Fader graduated Summa Cum Laude with an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance-Business Administration at Augustana.  He earned his master's degree in Sports Administration from UW-La Crosse in 1997.  In addition to coaching at UW-W, Fader is a lecturer in the college of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching and teaches a number of Adventure courses for UW-Whitewater.
"I feel that there should be higher expectations for our wrestlers and our program at Whitewater.  When I wrestled, UW Whitewater was a powerhouse and we always expected and received a battle when we wrestled them.  Those expectations have to start everywhere for our student-athletes but especially in the wrestling room and classrooms.   The tradition and support here at Whitewater is so strong and each new Whitewater wrestler needs to know that.  I look forward to instilling those higher expectations within our program."

Fader is married and has four children.
