Tom Karthausser
Assistant Coach

Tom Karthausser enters his third season on the UW-W coaching staff. An alumnus of UW-Whitewater, Tom earned four varsity letters playing defensive back for the Warhawks during the 2000-2003 seasons under head coach Bob Berezowitz. During his senior season at Whitewater, Tom was elected as the team’s defensive captain by his teammates.

Upon graduating from Whitewater, Tom began coaching high school football within the North Shore Conference. During the 2004 and 2005 seasons, Tom coached the varsity defensive backs at Whitefish Bay High School under head coach Jim Tietjen. From 2006 to 2007, he served as Nicolet High School’s defensive coordinator at the varsity level under head coach Robert Rinka. Tom also grabbed some head coaching experience during this time, serving as the interim head coach for Milwaukee’s expansion team in the Continental Indoor Football League for nine weeks during the 2008 season, leading the franchise to their first ever victory.

In his professional career, Tom works as an actuary at Mercer in downtown Milwaukee. He resides in the south side of Milwaukee in Bay View.
